I have used quick release on my pair for about five years without mishap, both on the traces and the yoke. I do use the large size with strong spring closure. And check/double check that the pin is securely seated in the shackle each time. The configuration for the breast bar is directly from the bar to the Dee ring or kidney link using only the quick release shackle. I think that not completely "seating" the pin is the most likely point of failure. I have had to correct that on occasion when I have helpers not familiar with Q. R. shackles. -----Original Message----- From: drivingpairs-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:drivingpairs-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of The Stewarts Sent: Sunday, November 27, 2005 4:30 AM To: drivingpairs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [drivingpairs] Question Question for the CDE pair drivers. Do you use quick releases on your pole yoke? We do. BUT, we have had them come open. I would be interested to hear what others do. Paul has a new pair carriage (Van der Heuval) with a relatively wide yoke compared to our other poles. Deryn Stewart
