if your carriage hs brakes, you can do without the breeching entirely... not
the path i'd recommend for everyday - but a thought if you want to try
things out before buying a whole bunch of stuff.
   Why were you thinking  you need diff bits for the pair? (from orig query)
My only doncern wi bits has been my fussy girl likes to rub her nose when
she has to just stand, and a couple times has nearly had the O of the
snaffle caught on the crab.

If you look at pairs harness, there is a strap from the breech to the breast

collar. This strap makes the breaching work.  Without this they would not be

able to slow the carriage down without this. They could only slow it down 
with the pole attachments.
