Hannah Hart, born 1887 (no date), Bilsdale, Yorkshire to William Hart and
Isabella Medd.
Hannah married Robert Johnson in Apr-Jun qtr of 1911 in Stokesley, Yorkshire,
having already given birth to the twins of which only Allan survived.
Apparently she hoped that Rob’t Johnson would adopt Allan but he didn’t accept
him into the family so the boy got palmed off onto his grandparents (Wm and
Isabella Hart).
Allan married ????? (her name would help) and they had only one child, Arthur
(presumably Hart but maybe Johnson). Arthur was born in 1936 maybe between
March and June? He seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth and my
neighbour, who lost her 84 yr old husband to cancer a month ago is starting to
wonder what happened to her cousin.

A bit more information would be helpful. Is there an approximate d.o.b/ p.o.b
for Hannah or a p.o.b for the twins?. Can find the Hart/Johnson marriage and
the birth of Ursula, but without more info re Alan can’t find him on the 1911
census

I’ve just been having a wonderful conversation with my 80 year old neighbour.
Apparently, her grandmother (Hannah Hart) was engaged to marry the son of the
“Big House” when she got pregnant with twins but before they could marry, her
fiance got killed in a horse riding accident. Then one of the twin boys died at
birth, leaving only Allan or Alan to be brought up by his grandparents. His
mother Hannah eventually married a man called Robert Johnson in 1911 in
Stokeley, Yorkshire and had two daughters (Ursula and Sybil) but Mr Johnson
wouldn’t accept Allan/Alan who might have kept the surname Hart or may have
adopted the name Johnson – my neighbour seems to think he kept Hart. Allan was
born prior to 1911, obviously and went on to marry ???? and they had one son
called Arthur.
Arthur was born in April/May/June 1936 in England – Yorkshire, I think – so
would also be eighty if he was alive. My neighbour has tried to find out what
happened to her cousin Arthur.
Just thought someone might have time on their hands and be looking for a
mystery to solve?? Just wondering............
