  Hello,

Andi said he wanted to prepare a new release, so it's... coming.

You're right, such « major changes » summary is needed. As Chris
already answered, changelogs from the darcs repository hold the
informationn but we should provide it in a more concise form.

I'm having several wikis running public releases and have started
testing the upgrade to a daily snapshot[1]. This morning an old test
wiki, overloaded with plugins with revision "Darcs 2006-02-20"
(which is older than the latest public revision of DokuWiki) has
been successfully upgraded to yesterday's snapshot. You should try
such an upgrade ON A COPY of your wiki and give us feedback.

Plugins and templates live out of the scope of the core code base,
except a few bundled plugins and the default template. Even if a new
release would come out today you would have to test all plugins and
templates you are using, and upgrade those which have new releases,
before moving to the new DokuWiki core. In case you would provide
feedback on an upgrade test, please do it using the default template
and detailing the (upgraded) plugins used.

Many translations are still to be updated[2].

  Yes, http://dev.splitbrain.org/darcs/index.cgi/dokuwiki for browsing
  and http://dev.splitbrain.org/darcs/index.cgi/dokuwiki/?c=patches
  for patches (long page!).
