A few quick thoughts.

Design is very wordpress ;)

For the installed plugin list, I'd be inclined to keep the information in the
list to a minimum to allow more plugins to be displayed per page. Possibly
just showing the title and the short description. Or even just titles with a
toggle option to show all the descriptions as well (though that may make things
too complex). I'm not sure of the real value of tags or authors in my plugin
installed listing.

When searching for new plugins, yes all that information is useful.

Thickbox is no longer maintained. From a Dokuwiki-wide perspective picking the
plugins to use with jquery requires care and thought. Its very easy to end up
with hodge podge of plugins. I'd strongly recommend considering jquery tools.
Overlay (or tooltip) can be used for displaying extra information.
