Since it looks like the link below was garbled, go to www.google.com,
select the "Groups" button, and search on "Downloading .wav to DLS level
1 programmatically" to go to the article. Or, you can search the
Graphics and Multimedia/DirectX/win32.programmer.directx.audio newsgroup
at http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/ (make sure to include August
2002). Or you can see my posting to this list at
//www.freelists.org/archives/directmusic/08-2002/fullthread3.html

FYI, if you're programming with DirectMusic, you really should start
reading and posting to microsoft.public.win32.programmer.directx.audio -
you're more likely to get rapid answers from the community "at large"
and also from the DirectSound and DirectMusic developers, than on this
more content-creator focused mailing list. The newsgroup is also more
visible to management here at Microsoft, so increasing the traffic on
that group will help make the game audio technologies more visible here.

Thanks,

David, maybe you could send an attached text file with the link. I
remember James tried to send a link like that a while back and it would
never send properly form MS for some reason. That stupid '=3D' thing!
