Please use wave files only when workin with sigtuna. If you need to do
editting etc in daisy book by importing mp3 files, then use My Studio PC. In
My studio PC also do not forget to export audio after all editting is done.
Right now also I would suggest to open this project in My studio PC software
and if every thing is correct then do a build book and then audio export
before validating.
Thanks

Subject: Troubles in making Daisy format book

Dear Manocha,
Read all the previous messages and the decisions taken to make Daisy books.
I preferred to try and evolve a procedure to use SigtunaDar3 as preparation
of TOC is easy and it can be typed in directly. I followed the procedure
'How to create a Table of contents based book' .

I followed Steps 1 to 3 as given. I did not do steps 4 & 5. Then, I carried
out step 6 ie created the table of contents manually for 7 chapters. in
three levels. Then instead of step 7, Recording, Imported the existing audio
files for each chapter one by one. Then I could play the files from within
Sigtuna forwards and backwards. Then I carried step8, ie Editing. I created
splits and made events, one for each question in chapter 1. I could navigate
easily among the questions in Sigtuna. Then I started the QAPlayer in
Sigtuna and I could play the project and navigate easily.

Then the problems started. I carried out Step 9, cleaning up process. It
went smoothly. Again checked in QAplayer. Normal. Step10, Export is not
required as the files are already in MP3 and the size is ok. No procedure
for preparing a CD is given. I straight burned all the files in the Project
folder to a CD. From the cd, I could play in the Computer normally. I put
the CD in the Victor Vibe player. The lcd display has shown the Heading of
the Book but it could not be played. Then I remembered about the Validator
programme. I ran the program and it declared 'Fail'. The log file is
attached herewith.

Did I miss any thing? any other important step? Is any step by step guide
available for this program?
Can you suggest any other line of work? My experiments are essentially to
import the existing books.

Another clarification please: Can I play the existing Audio in another cd
player and import and rerecord in Sigtuna? That is, the audio will be input
through Line-in instead of Mic-in. fron an external audio player.

I will be trying MyStudioPC in a similar way and shall report back. I will
be happy to get any step by step instructional manual. If nothing is
available, I shall prepare one after my trials become successful.

Thanking you,
--Sarma
