Hi mate,
I am running windows 7 so for me when you activate the file associations linhk
in the foobar preferences, it will activate the windows 7 control panel and put
you in the file associations for foobar. You will probably have to alt+tab to
it. Also check the checkbox that says register supported file formats at
startup or something like that. I assume you did this and hence why it works.

So I had already done that for cd player default. didn't find anything
directly for defaulting everything. But, I went back and started
flipping check boxes and I'm not sure which one did the trick but it
seems to work now.

I've installed foobar. Looks fine so far.
I can't find a way to make it the default however. I have to put a file into
it. Otherwise windows Media Player plays the tune.
Foobar does allow cd drive to default to it though.
