Phil, The easiest way to get a non-USB MIDI interface is through the joystick (serial) port on your computer, if your computer has one. Most still do, and it may be located as part of the modem card or the sound card, or may just be by itself. Anyway, the link uses a serial driver called MPU401 that is inherent in all operating systems all the way back to Windows 3.1. The Midi adapter that I have, unfortunately, has no manufacturer's markings on it whatsoever, so I can't help you with a part number. But just search Google for "Serial port MIDI controller" and you might come up with what you need. There is also a swap-and-shop section on www.techsupportforum.com that you may be able to find one through. Good luck! By the way, if you have difficulty locating the MPU401 driver, let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. -Andy English, Albuquerque, NM Paper Music: Music Transcription and Consultation Services for the Blind & Visually Impaired. www.papermusic.org Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
