Sorry Phil, but I wasn't referring to taking formal training was
wrong, but the technique that this guy was showing others on this
website I had found using the Chicken Claw was.

Yes, I agree with your perspective totally.  Its hard and we try to
find shortcuts, but with proper practice and teachers who do observe,
it does help to come quicker.

Hell, I remember getting the ruler on my knuckles a few times.  And
Keeping my wrists up...well that's another story.
