Oh okay. No I haven't done all that. Everything is on one machine. Setting up this shared space is normally the job of a system administrator as it's important to make sure that only people you want to be able to get at those files can connect to the shard area. If you store a .chm file in such an area and try to open it from your local machine, the operation will fail due to the bug I noted earlier. Best wishes. Windows .chm help files are definitely a problem if you try to use one located on a network share (you can't). Microsoft have this as a acknowledged bug. Best wishes. This is certainly tru of such files stored on a server. Phil replied: well, you may wish to try the following procedure. Note: in order to do this, you may need to have your Windows XP CD handy. Go to control panel, add/remove programmes and tab over to the toolbar that says toolbar change/remove programmes. Arrow down until you hear Jaws say add/remove Windows components button and press the spacebar on that option. This will drop you into the Windows Components Wizard. Go down the list and find Internet Explorer and check the box. Then, click next. then, when Windows tells you to, click finish. That will remove Internet Explorer. You will know if that has happened as you won't find it or any shortcuts to it any more. Then, go back into the wizard and run it again. That will reinstall IE. If you can't find IE in the list, let me know and I will post detail of a Windows system file that needs to be edited as Windows hides some components by default. When I try and go to the main documentation from the hotspot clicker, jaws seems to go dum. It simply won't read it. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.
