I have a quad-core system with 3 gigs of ram, and that issue happened to me
with sonar 6 and a project that had a lot of softsynths. I remember at the time
Phil telling me that he didn't think it was my system at all. He said my system
was plenty to handle such a project.

  Hi Omar,

Only had it happen on one project, it too had a lot of softsynths, I have
around 3GB of Ram and Phil Muir told me my system is quite fast in the
processing department.
Couldn't tell exactly what speed processor as I'm not very computer savvy
when it comes down to specification.
I still think it was my system not being able to handle so many softsynths
and effect pluggins.

Ralph, which version of sonar and ct are you using? Steve, I had a similar
problem with a project a while ago while using sonar 6. I can't recall if I'd
reported it in a report to dancing dots or not. I do remember, though, that the
project had a lot of softsynths, and after a certain number of them, jaws/ct
reported the synthrack as empty.

      Hi Ralf,

      Are all softsynths unfrozen.
The reason I ask is, I had a project where there were around 15 or more
softsynths and my system was saying there was nothing in the synth rack.

I froze most of the softsynths, went back to the synth rack
      and it was functioning correctly.
Maybe your system just isn't coping with that many applications.
Just unfreeze the particular softsynth you wish to make changes too and
freeze it again after.

      Hope this helps.

        Hi all
I'm working on the big project with 15 softsynths, but ... when I open
the sinth rack I hear only "refresh the synth rack. I can't make the automation
in one of the synths. What to do now?
