Jim, as you reach over the top of the unit, starting from the far left, the inputs are: 1 left 1 right 3 left 3 right 5 left 5 right 7 left 7 right You have the wrong input selected. You're mic is plugged in to the second connector from the left. You're selecting 3 left, and that is the third connector from the left, not the second. So, help me understand, if I use the third SLR, which inputs could I use for a third track? Sorry folks for such elementary questions but I really have to make a go of this recording equipment. Thanks Steve. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Wicketts<mailto:steve.wicketts@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, October 12, 2009 5:30 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Recording issues Hi Jim, no nothing about tascam, however, are there only to XLR inputs because you may need to select right acio fw for the second microphone as it's in the second XLR Socket. No prob with this one, I can both hear the audio and can monitor the peak levels. The second audio track is vocal mic 2, Input set to left acio fw-1884analog3, the cable from the mic is plugged in to the next slr slot. I can hear the audio from the mic but the peak meters are not changing, I go in to record and get nothing. BTW, on both tracks the output is set to master. What am I doing? Jimmy
