Sheila,

Hate to think what your cat may have done, but if it was my cat, I'd toss it
out of the room, head-first. Yuck.

When the input is stereo input m lan 1, everything records to that track,
and when I change the input to anything else, nothing records at all. I'm
wondering if I've done something to my physical mixing board which the mic
is plugged into, or if my cat has.

Well, then, change the input of your nu vocal track?

I mean, the only way anything apart from your vocal will record to your nu
track is if its actually, physically, routed there?!

Duzz this make sense?
