Bryan, that's what I thought. That's a shame as they have missed a chance
to sell that to MPowered users. Mind you, not that people at Diji design
would particularly care about that, smile.

I looked in to this a little further. The OMF support definitely requires
the DV Toolkit. An interesting catch, though, is that the DV Toolkit is not
available for MPowered. So, OMF only on Pro Tools LE or TDM, and only with
very expensive add on. Oh well. I'm sure that someone somewhere uses it
*smile*.

Phil, while PT on Windows isn't accessible by any real definition, it is
better than what is possible with the shipping version on the Mac. On the
Mac, the mix and edit windows are completely blank. And, while you can read
the dialog boxes with VoiceOver, PT doesn't recognize when you click on any
of the controls.
On Windows, you can see some parts of the mix/edit windows like track name,
and some basic parameters. The dialog boxes work. You need to use the Jaws
cursor, but you can accomplish some very very basic things.
You can open and save sessions. You can add tracks. I've seen Kevin Reeves
manage to load WAV files on to tracks. I think it is possible to operate the
export function that bounces the session.
Charles, it is fine to install Pro Tools on your ADK machine. It will work
just fine with the ProjectMix.
You can save Sonar projects as OMF format, and directly load them in Pro
Tools MPowered. However, I think that you will need to purchase the DV
Toolkit option for Pro Tools in order to get OMF support.

I have an ADK Pro Audio computer that I got through DancingDots with
Sonar 8.5.2 and CakeTalking 8.5.4. I use an M-Audio ProjectMix as my audio
interface.
Now, I have a friend who would like to do some work with me on four
projects recorded with Pro Tools.
Here is my question: Would it be OK if I install Pro Tools in my
system in order to open these projects and export them to Sonar? I have
been working with Sonar for about 7 months and my whole system works very
nice for me. I would not like to create any conflicts or unknowingly change
some settings that could affect the way either Sonar or my computer works.
Can Sonar and Pro Tools coexist peacefully in the same XP-pro
environment?
Are there any settings in Pro Tools or any plug-in that I should be
careful with during installation?
Finally, if it is OK to install Pro Tools, do you know what is the
best way to export a project from Pro Tools to Sonar? I have seen some
references to the OMF format. Can I get that from Pro Tools?
My friend is sighted and she does have some experience with Pro
Tools, so she will be doing the actual exporting of the projects.
