hi, again,
would the list owner/moderator *please* remove me from
the list? I've unsubscribed twice and posted here to the
list once trying to get off, but the messages are still
coming through. I just now deleted about 25 that came
through since yesterday evening.
I had no trouble getting on the list, but I can't seem
to get off no matter what I do. Please remove me!
Thank you

I think there had been some issues with the FW1884.
They are all sorted out now.

Yeah I think there was a discussion about
that on here a while back. Can someone refresh our memory?

Didn't someone on this list say
something about the taskam 1884 being much of a problem with
jaws?

well, I think if I had the money and
I were you then, I would go for a Taskam FW1884. It has
good pre-amps, and has automated faders. It's a really nice
sound card and control surface. Also, you could add more
inputs to it, at a later date, by purchasing some extra
personas pre-amps for it.

                        Hi Phil:

I don't use separate pre amps yet.
It's been suggested to me by a salesman that the higher end
mixers have good pre amps built into them. I'm in the
process of purchasing all new equipment for the studio
because I'm scheduled to train with Gord in November. So I'm
just asking all these questions now so I know what to buy
and so I can have everything here and ready to go by the
time he gets here. I guess that for now, it's the digital
conversion thats in question here.

                        Thanks.

Omar, the Mackie is supposed to be
very good. Hard to say whether you would achieve better
results with that over the Delta. Unless, the preamps that
you have attached to your delta aren't as good as the Mackie
ones or, the digital converters in the Macki, are better
than the Delta's.

                        Hi Everyone:

                        A salesmen at Guitar Center
recommended that I use a Mackie Onyx, which is one of their
higher end mixers with a firewire card. He says the firewire
card can become replacement for the delta 44 soundcard that
i'm currently using. He says that I'll get much better
quality when converting to digital with the firewire card
that comes with the onyx mixer. So I wanted to get some
feedback from you guys before I made a decision on this.

                        Thanks.
