If you can get a laptop with a 7200 rpm hard drive that would definitely be a
plus--in fact, let me know if you find one. Most I've seen have 5400 rpm, and
the one I currently use is even slower at 4200 rpm. I attached an external
7200 rpm firewire drive formatted for media files and set sonar to use that
drive for audio data, and that seems to have eased the problem sufficiently.
BTW: what sound card do you plan on using with your new laptop?
