Thanks for the info, Steve. I am glad to have everything up and running well. I will have to email you sometime to get some samples of what you've done with JABB 3 and Dimension Pro. My email is: fathertim@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx If you use drop box, maybe you could set up a "steve and Tim" folder for me to hear your stuff. If you've put a sample instrument on the first empty and want to replace it with another instrument: 1: Hit Jaws cursor key, 2: hit left mouse key, 3: arrow down to Jab, 4: right arrow to the sound lists. If you're using Jazz and Big Band, you need to work with different effects to get the Brass and horns to sound ok as they are not brilliant samples. Using Garritan and Dimension Pro I have managed to get quite a convincing horns section. To get the best out of Garritan Trumpets you really need to be putting midi controllers in the event view such as, "falloffs", "doits", and "kisses". These are controller switches so once on you do need to switch off before the next note or you may have a sequence of Trumpet Falloffs. If you'd like to hear a sample of my work using Garritan Horns with Dimension Pro in a Jazz type style, just email me off list. steve.wicketts@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Steve W Sent: Saturday, December 04, 2010 2:21 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Garritan jazz and big band 3 installation Hi Steve, I have sound. I needed to set the midi channel to 1. Now, one last question on this matter before I leave everyone in peace. Is there a quicker way to sample each of the sounds? Or, do I have to try each one through the normal process? Thank you, Tim From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Wicketts Sent: December-03-10 5:41 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Garritan jazz and big band 3 installation Hi Tim, If you've arrowed down and across to the first empty column, that is midi channel one, the one below is midi channel 2, below that is midi channel 3 and the bottom one is midi channel 4. Now if you go back to the top empty column cursor across to the second empty column that's Midi channel 5 and below is midi channel 6 and so on. If you are using a midi keyboard try setting the keyboard midi to midi channel 1 and that should play the instrument that is placed on the first empty column. If this doesn't still work, try checking in the track pain that the audio track input is saying Aria Player? One other thing remember these instruments don't play on every octave so you could be playing notes where the samples don't play due to their register. Hope this helps.
