Yes, ImageFiles are a good example of the sort of thing that can happen
- does one sync the image file or the contents of it.
Anyhow the answer is nigh: go for 7backup from:
http://www.7thsoftware.com/software.htm
There is lots of interesting (free) RISC OS software on that site.
Another option is DirSync from:
