Yes, John, I'm afraid you're right.  The problem docs print perfectly
using a PS Generic printer driver.  It appears that PS3 can, indeed, be
switched into 'dash mode'!

It's easy enough to demonstrate once you know how, but I'm, sending
John and Martin an example file.

In the meantime, I've cured my problem docs by re-ordering the levels
in their drawfiles (making sure the last/front item in each one has a
solid linestyle).
