Hope I am not repeating this question. I have been reading different
suggestions, and I am in a quandary. I would appreciate your advice.
While waiting for water to be restored, should we leave indoor faucets open or
closed? Hot? Cold? All faucets?
Water is not turned off at the street.

A WORD OF CAUTION ON WATER:
To prevent pipes bursting from water freezing in them, apparently people are
being told to turn your water off at the street, then open faucets in your
house. There is a potential danger in this. If you turn on two or more hot
water faucets, it is then possible that air will get in your electric water
heater. If this happens you can/WILL burn out the heating elements in the
water heater. If you don't open a faucet and ice forms in the pipes, the
pressure can build up and still burst the pipes. so Turn off your water heater
too.
Summarizing:
IF YOU TURN THE WATER OFF AT THE STREET, BE SURE TO TURN OFF YOUR WATER HEATER,
AND OPEN AT LEAST ONE COLD AND ONE HOT WATER FAUCET.
