Matt,

Convenient but problematic. If someone subscribes without going through a record keeper you only capture their email. I think we need to be able to match name and email. Also, and very importantly, the new subscriber will not receive a personal welcome that include list guidelines. If you don't think these are problems I think we need to have an executive meeting about it.

Hey Doug,

Anyone who wants a service related to covna@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:covna@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>.

For instance:
- add me to the distribution list
- remove me from the distribution list
- please help me with spam
- or whatever

This way it isn't tied to my personal email address. Let's say I go on vacation, no big deal I'll add my backup to the covna-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:covna-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>. Let's say I win the lottery, and drop off the face of the world. Again no big deal, I'll just add someone else to the admin DL and remove my self. Best of all any time we write down the "owner" of the COVNA DL as covna-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:covna-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> on a webpage or in a newsletter we are guaranteed that no matter what happens that address will be accurate.

BTW - freelists approved the email address and I confirmed it's working accordingly. So we are good to go.

Thanks,

Matt

    Hey Doug,

Sure, no problem. I'll get it to you no later than Friday end of
business (5 PM). Sorry we didn't reply earlier. Frankly
speaking, I've been distracted and although I read the email it
didn't have a drop dead need date so it didn't get a higher
priority than the things that have drop dead dates. Sorry bout that.

I can take the list over entirely. In order to remove your ADMIN
flag the user requires the SUPERADMIN flag. I don't have that
flag so I cannot remove your ADMIN privileges directly. I will
send an email to freelists and see what they can do.

I've requested a new freelist address for COVNA List Admins. Right now it will only have my email address on it, but it is
decoupled from my personal email address. If you can update the
webpage on Wednesday to point to this email address that would be
    great. The list is: covna-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
    <mailto:covna-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I will send a note to the DL introducing myself along with the
proposal to remove the anonymous feature.

    Thanks,

    Matt
