[CTS] Re: master/slave configuration

IDE cable should be used in this manner: The middle IDE channel should
belong to the slave hard drive. The last IDE channel should belong to the
master hard drive.

The Seagate should be on pin 5 & 6, and should be inserted in the middle IDE
channel.

My understanding is the position on the cable only matters if both drives
are set to CS, in that case the drive closer to the controller will be
looked at first for the active partition. Now if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone
will chime in. This is why I always set the jumpers. This way although the
OS is on the slave drive, it still boots up with no problems. I'm not all
too familiar with this seagate drive. All the drives I have used has been WD
and there's only three sets of jumpers, Master, Slave and Cable Select!

Have you tried here?
