Actually they use to be five years, then they dropped down to 3. I have
a couple of 80gb drives that are quite a few years old that are still
kicking. Sure I have had new ones die within months, but that's still
under warranty. I look more at brand than 3 or 5. Great to have that
five at year four, but by then I would have gotten another drive anyway!
