The societal issue I chose was peer-to-peer file sharing.  It does have it's 
advantages such as:  it gives you the ability to get programs and files at the 
convenience of your own home and it is free.  The disadvantage is that is 
illegal for some of the things you can use it for such as movie and music file 
sharing.  Aslo a disadvantage is that some people put files on to share that 
contain viruses.  If you are interested in file sharing, one good place to go 
would be www.kazaa.com
