I completely agree with you. I don't see why they should be able to look at your emails, chats, or I.M.'s. In my opinion, it's the same as the police searching your home just to make sure you're not doing anything illegal, or the post office reading every piece of mail that comes through. People have a right to privacy, whether it be the via the internet or not.
