Hiya Stephan >That's an old, well-known problem. You can work around it by >a) setup.exe /f:16 or >b) the BIOS setup option "Memory hole at 15...16M". OK, I will admit ignorance here, what does the /f:16 switch do and does this mean I have to re-install? And what would a hole in my memory do, or is it there to dump all my MS problems into :-) >BTW: Can Windows use the whole memory? (Check Program Mangler's "Info" >box - it should show the free memory in the RAM plus the swapfile.) It's showing 129,127kb at the mo, that about 126Mb, so windows can see it but the apps can't, most odd. Just thought, unless they are looking at it at the DOS level, in which case surely they will see that Windows has hogged all available memory and only see the 1Mb that MEM is reporting in a DOS box! How do I tell windows to leave 4meg alone for DOS apps?
