It's unfortunate that MSATC works the best, because well, it's 10
years or so out of date. Dovetale's sim, while probably not
accessible--the interface that is, will apparently work with addons
that work with FSX.
Here's hoping that IYP will work with it given this information.

suspicion that I did not setup things correctly because I had similar
problems last night flying from KABQ to KPHX where I ended up much too close
to the airport without any runway to expect to land on.

I conducted the same flight in a Boeing 738 (I do not have an Embraer 190 on
my development PC) using MS-ATC and the flight was perfectly normal (see
attached CVRT). The ACARS PIREP was also uploaded.
