The Herndon Chapter of TOS (aka the Elizabethton Bird Club) has a field
trip scheduled this weekend, as follows:
Date: Saturday, Feb 25.
Time: meet at 8:00 am; we will likely finish about noon.
Location: Sycamore Shoals State Park, in Elizabethton.
Meet in the parking lot in front of the visitor center.
Birding sites: Sycamore Shoals SP, Elizabethton linear trail,
on up to Wilbur Lake area, maybe some stops
in between.
Targets: ducks on Watauga River or Wilbur Lake, maybe Tree Swallows,
possibly the wintering Orange-cr. Warbler, Great Horned Owl
on nest,
other birds of late winter / early spring.
