Hi. This is a unit for now until mine comes back. For me it looks like the battery bolder because I can press the battery down and it jumps in about 0.1 cm. Also the battery looks brand new but for some reason the holder lets it drop in. It does not let it out but it lets it in. What I will do is when I get mine back I change the batterys around and do the pressing test. It never happened with mine. If I put this down harder than a slow put down I can here the reset beeth. Mine fell off my bed and did not reset. If this falls off I would not be able to complete this email. My bed is not high so it should not happen at all.

I'm not sure if tape will fix it but it is worth a try and as long as nothing gets inside the
actual battary housing I don't think it will do any harm. When returning the machine I would suggest you mention the issues you are having so they can then think about getting it seen to. A new battery might fix the issue but I would be talking to humanware first to see if they think the same. If you had access to another Apex you could swap batteries and see if it has the same issue in another machine which would tell you that it is a problem with the battery but if it works fine in the other machine then it
is likely a issue with the machine. No spaer battery or anything. Also its third usb says sometimes "device not recognised" for a memory stick which works in the other 2. So I'm not surprised. ----- Original Message ----- From: Alex Hall <mehgcap@xxxxxxxxx To: rajmund <brajmund2000@xxxxxxxxx Date sent: Sun, 10 Nov 2013 07:14:10 -0500 Subject: Re: [BNU] help!!!!!! battery That depends on the tape used, but I can't see how wiping the unit with a *slightly* damp (and I mean very slightly) cloth or bit of rubbing alcohol to remove residue would damage anything. That said, I really don't know just how much tape will help matters. If you have, or have access to, a secondary battery, consider using that instead. I wiped my own one even the usbs and never had a problem but never did the battery. ----- Original Message ----- From: Alex Hall <mehgcap@xxxxxxxxx To: rajmund <brajmund2000@xxxxxxxxx Date sent: Sun, 10 Nov 2013 06:59:14 -0500 Subject: Re: [BNU] help!!!!!! battery There뭩 nothing you can do. Some batteries don뭪 fit quite right, and moving them can cause them to disconnect. You can try a bit of tape or something like it to see if it will help; as long as the adhesive isn뭪 going to stay on the device after the tape is removed, you should be fine. Aside from that, just try not to bump the unit or move it while you are using it, and close any open documents or emails when you do move it so that a reset caused by a battery disconnect will not erase any data. When I left my apex turned on chatting with people it just turned itself off. Ok so I did a reset. Nothing helped so I removed and placed the battery back. It worked. Yesterday it did the same about 10 times one after the other. Ok so I had a close playing with the battery. I found out that if you press hard on the battery while it is in its place it looses connection and resets itself. Now I also found out that if I pick it up and move it it will do it again. Is there anything I could do? I thought of some paper tape sticker but the apex is not mine so I'd rather not. aAny suggestions please? ------------------------------- BNU: BrailleNote Users - a forum for users of BrailleNote family of products from Humanware.
