Hi,
Then it could be connection time-out. Try this: go to Connectivity/Wireless/Wireless Options. Then turn off power saving mode, then restart when prompted. Comparing U2's wireless chip against Apex's is like comparing apples versus oranges, as U2 has stronger and newer Wi-Fi chip.
Cheers,
Joseph

Joseph, an astute comment! I have done that and indeed often it
does "fix" the issue for a while, my point is that it does happen
quite often, too often and the U 2 for example has no such issue,
same distance from the modem-router, same conditions.

Hi,
Before that, try reconnecting to the network (turn off Wi-Fi,
then reconnect). That should solve the problem for a time.
From what I've seen, this has nothing to do with databases or
corrupt files - this has to do with connections. In this case,
factory reset may not help.
Cheers,
Joseph

How about a factory reset? back up everything! then try. Then,
if that does not work, send to humanware.

Cricket, I appreciate your information, however, these error
messages actually occur whilst downloading emails, and yes I do
check connections whenever I change.
So, any further thoughts regarding what one might be able to do
would be fabulous?

Yeah. Don't send annonymous msgs. It freaks people out. And...
Your email thing is most likely not set up properly. Read the
email chapter in the user guide. Also, make sure you are
connected to the network and reconnect every time you change
location.

I'm or at least my Apex is really not downloading emails at all.
Apart from the 10054 error message I'm also getting error 1004
and error 10060.
Any other thoughts?
Peter

Hey Carlos,
You can't really clean the braille display on your own, but
according to the manual you can wipe it down with a warm, damp
cloth to remove any dirt or dust that may be present. No
cleaning solutions should be used. The manual says to send your
BN back about every 12 months to have HW clean the display
properly.

Subject: [BNU] Cleaning the Braille Display and Apex

Hi all,

How often does the Apex and braille display have to be cleaned?
I
think my Apex could use with a good cleaning. Is there a way I
could clean it myself or do I have to send it in?

Carlos
