Well, you have to go with someone with a drivers license to buy the stuff, but you can get it at most electronics stores, edc. All you do is put the thing that the air comes out of over the display, and press the mechanism that releases the air. It works great!

Ok where could I get that air? Also how to use it? What do you

So it was probably the dust... If ever in doubt, use compressed
air. It helps. Plus, it's fun.

Hello. I wash my hands way to often. I never dropped it. I
think I scratched it and taken everywhere which made it quite
dusty. Also in school the tables can't be as clean as they
 should.

There is only one way this could have happened. It's called not
washing your hands enough. Yes, displays are delecate in some
cases, and this is one of those cases. My display on my old
apex
only broke because I dropped the machine, and the x things came
up. The display was still good after 4 years though, and now my
friend is using the device. The display still works, but Ow x
things came back. I think he dropped it as well. Anyway, I
also
remember how teachers used to stress the fact that we had to
wash
 our hands.
Another thing that may be causing this is dust. Yes, dust also
messes things up, and so if you live in that kind of
environment,
 well... Just be careful.

Do you all know what? I just found out that my original apex
needs a whole new braille display after 8 months! I cleaned it
and all that but it has died anyway. I think what ever we do
they will die. Clean can have

elp but mine died still. ----- Original Message -----

Hi, the manual says to use a slightly damp cloth to clean the
  display. I
wouldn't be using water around it myself because too much water
  will do
damage. I have heard of people using canned air that they
spray
  on the
display however I have never used it myself.

I find that most of the time my issues are sorted out by
  exercising the
display while I have the unit tipped up which normally gets
most
  of the dirt
  out.

  | Talking about cleaning cells, or cleaning in general, what
are
  | eververyone's thoughts on this? I never do, and is probably
 why

  | ruin it with water.

  |
  | Hello all,
  |
  | I have great, excellent news. I received my Apex today.
They
  | basically rebuilt my whole top, and replaced a lot of the
 sells
  | on the braille display. I know there are some sells that
  didn't
  | need replacing yet that are going to need replacing or
 cleaning
  | eventually, but right now, everything is going good so far.
I
  | can't wait to test my skills with the GPS as well when I go
 for
  | my walk tomorrow or at some point soon.
  |
  | Anyway, feel free to add me on Keychat.
