All you do is put the thing that the air comes out of over the display, and press the mechanism that releases the air. It works great!

What do you clean your u2s display with? ----- Original Message ----- From: Ricardo Herrera <deathdogg@xxxxxxxxx To: braillenote@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,brajmund2000@xxxxxxxxx,koala@areujoking ._com Date sent: Fri, 15 Nov 2013 09:48:59 com0800 Subject: Re: [BNU] braille displays was: Some great news So it was probably the dust... If ever in doubt, use compressed air. It helps. Plus, it's fun. ----- Original Message ----- From: rajmund <brajmund2000@xxxxxxxxx To: Ricardo Herrera <deathdogg@xxxxxxxxx>,koala@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,braillenote@freelists. org,brajmund2000@xxxxxxxxx Date: Friday, November 15, 2013 9:43 Subject: Re: [BNU] braille displays was: Some great news Hello. I wash my hands way to often. I never dropped it. I think I scratched it and taken everywhere which made it quite dusty. Also in school the tables can't be as clean as they should. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ricardo Herrera <deathdogg@xxxxxxxxx To: koala@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,braillenote@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,brajmund2000@gmail ._com Date sent: Fri, 15 Nov 2013 08:32:27 com0800 Subject: Re: [BNU] braille displays was: Some great newsThere is only one way this could have happened. It's called not
washing your hands enough. Yes, displays are delecate in some cases, and this is one of those cases. My display on my old apex only broke because I dropped the machine, and the x things cameup. The display was still good after 4 years though, and now my
friend is using the device. The display still works, but Ow x things came back. I think he dropped it as well. Anyway, I also remember how teachers used to stress the fact that we had to wash our hands. Another thing that may be causing this is dust. Yes, dust also messes things up, and so if you live in that kind of environment, well... Just be careful. ----- Original Message ----- From: rajmund <brajmund2000@xxxxxxxxx To: koala@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,braillenote@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Friday, November 15, 2013 8:21 Subject: [BNU] braille displays was: re: Re: Some great news Do you all know what? I just found out that my original apex needs a whole new braille display after 8 months! I cleaned it and all that but it has died anyway. I think what ever we do they will die. Clean can have elp but mine died still. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharon S" <koala@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To: "Braille Note" <braillenote@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date sent: Sat, 16 Nov 2013 02:28:47 +1100 Subject: [BNU] Re: Some great news Hi, the manual says to use a slightly damp cloth to clean the display. Iwouldn't be using water around it myself because too much water
will do damage. I have heard of people using canned air that they spray on the display however I have never used it myself. I find that most of the time my issues are sorted out by exercising the display while I have the unit tipped up which normally gets most of the dirt out. From Shaz.
