I think you mean when 8 dot braille is turned on, the at sign is dots 47 and with 8 dot braille off, the at sign is space-u dot 4. the qwerty command for the at sign is shift-2.
If you are using the Unified English Braille, the at sign is dot-4 dot 1. It is a two-cell sign.

Space with u then dot 4 with the braille display off or dots 7-4 with the braille display on.----- Original Message ----- From: "Portia Scott" <portiaprincess@xxxxxxxxx To: <brajmund2000@xxxxxxxxx>,<richkar1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>,<braillenote@f reelists.org Date sent: Mon, 11 Nov 2013 14:32:13 -0800 Subject: [BNU] Re: at sign If you're in the US, I believe it's space with u, then dot 4. It should use computer braille what so ever in keymail. Now Iwill not play the guessing game with you here. In uk braille it is space with u and after that 2-3-4-6. I don't know theus one. Please follow these. Go to keymail. Go to send an email. At the"send to:" press space with h. It will tel you what is the at sign code. What ever braille code you have it will change. If I have uk it will saythe uk one. If I have the us one it will change to us. Please let me knowif these worked. Basically when in computer braille how does one writethe at symbol? I would be using grade one. Do I have to turn on 8 dot braille? Also while mentioning things we would like to see changed I'd like the option to write in computer braille You wouldn't want to use computer braille to write a paper but for things like email addresses it would make life much easier. Also I have found the grade two translator to be at best unreliable. For example if I have the unit set to grade two and I am just using it as a terminal for a ios display sometimes grade 2 works reasonabley well other times some contractions are translated and others aren't.I'm a very new apple user but kind of convinced that using this as a displayand leyboard for an i-pad or i-touch is the way to go rather than praying for the next update or better yet a new braille note that noone can afford unless rehab buys it.
