Hello Sayoon
If this ever happens we have a file system repair option, similar to that on a
PC's hard drive, which can be activated by doing the following:
1. Power off the Touch completely
2. Hold power and home until you get the start up vibration.
3. After a couple seconds, release power but keep holding home until you see a
message on the braille display which says Press Home. Release home and then
tap it again to get into the diagnostic menu.
4. Press your Next thumb key (far right one), repeatedly until you see "File
system repair" and activate it with a router key.
5. When complete, activate the reboot option with your router key and the
device should repair itself and start up normally.
In most cases, as others have posted, this file system repair fixes any system
corruption and often results in a Touch running more efficiently. In some
cases however, if the corruption lies within your personal data, it is possible
some of your personal files could be erased during the process.
If you continue to have issues, please don't hesitate to contact HumanWare's
support department at 800.722.3393.
I hope this helps and best regards
Greg

Subject: [BNU] Re: Urgent: BrailleNote Touch Not Booting Up
I get the message saying Starting Keysoft with spinning dot, and after few
seconds it freezes at this point. The unit does not respond and the top portion
of the device gets warm.
Hope this additional info helps

Hi,
When you say it is not booting up, Do you get the starting key soft message
on the display following spinning dot or what? If so, what happens after a
few minutes of this.

Hello folks,
So I got the BrailleNote Touch from an assistive tech loaner, something like
that that gives me an opportunity to try out various devices, and I chose
BrailleNote Touch. The one unit they got me was pretty new, really enjoyed
using it, and all the sudden it’s not booting up. I have not tampered with
internal SD card or anything, but the unit is stuck while booting up. It’s
more problematic for me because this is not my device either.
Any solutions, help, or workarounds at this point would help.
Thanks,
