Usb is a lot easer to use.

Ok, I have another question,
I put NVDA on a computer at school to read it
How can that work the the BN as a display?

I think so too. However, I think usb ports are easier to use.

Ah yes, the serial port is for connecting the BN to a braille
embosser.

Marissa,
The USB with the little block at the end is a USB to serial cord.
I've had my Apex since June and I haven't the slightest Idea as
to what it's for. I think it's for connecting the BrailleNote to
a PC, but it's easier to use a USB cord, especially since you
don't really see serial ports that often anymore.
