Usb is a lot easer to use.

I put NVDA on a computer at school to read it
How can that work the the BN as a display?

Ah yes, the serial port is for connecting the BN to a braille

to what it's for. I think it's for connecting the BrailleNote to
a PC, but it's easier to use a USB cord, especially since you
don't really see serial ports that often anymore.
