Hi Rose, actually it is about the size of a standard lap top keyboard. I have one and use it daily, and like you type way faster than i can braille. Smile. But the QWERTY keyboard version isn't really that much different than a lap top keyboard. Shelley L. I sometimes take minutes in office meetings using the Braille Note and sometimes have to think of the proper contractions to input, I recognize any Braille errors but, sometimes writing it now is difficult. I got the Braille note before the QWERTY keyboard and after hearing that the keyboards are smaller than a typewriter, I am sticking with my BT models but I can't write Braille as fast as I did in high school or college. I don't know if I could transition transcription to the Braille Note easily other than the occasional phone number. If medical terms were in the transcription I just have a feeling I'd be trying to type. Rose Combs rosecombs@xxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: E. I am faster at it than I am at typing and I am a fast typist. I have some knowledge of transcription as I used to conduct a lot a lot of focus groups and ended up transcribing parts of the sessions for my reports. I know it is time consuming. That is why I said I need people to be patient when I agreed to do some of the work. I still intend to transcribe all or part of Jim's interview. I will speak with those interested in helping. One thing I will need to know is if there is a way of quickly stopping and starting the recording itself. Also knowing if there is a way of bookmarking the recording will help. Bookmarking might mean I can work on one part and somebody else can work on another part. We can all co-ordinate and co-operate and split up some of the work.
