Well, I must be older than both of you. I can remember when stamps were 1
cent. I can remember my parents complaining about them going up to 3 cents. And you know what, they are still complaining each time they go up. Come to
think of it I complain about it each time too. ;-))

I guess my parents taught me well huh?

This is a bit off topic, but I thought as the Star Wars books come up
from time to time I'd mention it.

The U.S. Postal Service has unveiled its set of 15, 41-cent 'Star
Wars' stamps to honor the 30th anniversary of the first movie.

I'm not sure which surprises me more, the 41 cents, or the fact that
they are doing it, along with a promotional contest of some sort,
posters,
etc.
Even though I've been a long time fan, well I guess you could say a
30 year fan, of Star Wars, I think this is a bit over the edge. The
other thing that amazes me is the promotion and contest. If you need
to mail a letter you get a stamp, so why do they have to advertise
and promote a public service run by the government? I never
understood back when Lance Armstrong was still winning the 'Tour De
France' why exactly the U.S. Postal Service was the teams sponsor. I
guess it just a good example of your tax dollars at work, and why
they need to raise the price of a stamp to 41 cents! Does anyone
remember what the price of a stamp was in 1977? I know it was in the
teens, but I'm not sure exactly what it was.
