Personally, I still have never even visited the Audible web site. With all
the books I can get from Bookshare, BARD, RFB&D,Archive.org, Project
Gutenberg, and etcetera a book would have to be extremely special for me to pay
the
Audible prices for it and I have yet to hear anything that would lead me to
believe that Audible has anything that special.

My problem with audible.com is the speech rate.  Just because I'mlosing
some vision doesn't mean I want to read at 150 wpm!  TheEloquence voice at
around
400-600 wpm seems optimal to me, forenjoyment purposes.  There are
exceptions... I loved the Hitchhiker'sGuide to the Galaxy radio show, but that
was a
performancespecifically developed for radio, with a totally different
script andseveral actors. No, the vast majority of books for me in the future
will
be TTSgenerated mp3s on my phone.  Anything else is just painful.
Ihonestly can't say there's a single book on audible.com I'd be in theleast bit
interested
in.Do you think there would be any interest at Bookshare to developiPhone
and Anroid applications that read Bookshare books for members?MP3s are nice,
but I'd like an application that can speed up/down, andrewind in increments
of seconds, and which has a good range of voices.BillTo unsubscribe from
