Are you sure your computer has a USB port? The nature of USB is that it

HTH.

I should also pojint out that one of thwe ports on my laptop has a seris of 4 holes and the other does not. On my desktop the usb ports are standered, but the cable does not fit. it is if the port is not the rite size.

ation. Yes both of my computers are USB capable.

My desktop has 2 usb ports one of which has my

I don't mean to condescend, but USB connections are just a bit tricky to
manage. The plug only goes in one way; you can't flip it over and have
it go in. The plug has to be lined up straight and square with the
slot. Do you have experience with making USB connections? It's easy
once you get the hang of it, but, I found some trouble learning to make
USB connections tactilely.

I can't imagine that you have a computer with a USB socket that won't
accept a USB plug. I'm betting your computer isn't USB, unless you have
used other USB devices and know that I am incorrect. I say this because
the cord that came with my Bookport is standard USB fare.

If you don't have a USB-equipped computer, but you do have an expansion
slot available in your machine, you can get a USB adapter card from any
computer store. It's not as good as the real thing but generally it
works.

Good luck.

Subject: [bookport] another question

Hello. I have another question. I said earlyer that the cable for my
bookport would not not fit in any of my pcs. Is it possible to just go
to radioshack and by a usb cable that will work in the bookport? My
dad does not seem to think it is possible. if someone could straton me
out on this it would help.
I should also point out that for pamila. The cable does not fit in
either oof my computers. I tried to contact aph about having the cable
replaysed with a standered cable. see my message above for the detals.
