Pamela,

I do have a card reader. Other flash cards are not recognized.

What steps should I take? I'm replying on list in case your answer will
help other users in the future.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Onward!

Rob

Rob:

This means that you have had a partial firmware update. In order to reflash
your firmware again, the Book Port has to be recognized. You might try a
different card, in case the card has caused this.
Otherwise, unless you have a card reader, you will need to send it in and we
will do it. If you have a reader, or if a second card is recognized, please
let us know and we will provide you with instructions on what to do next.

If you have to send it in, you'll need to send it directly to me, because
this isn't a normal repair.

Sincerely,

Hi,

My name's Rob, and I've subscribed to this list, hoping you can help with a
problem.
I've had my bookport since last May. When I updated the firmware on Friday,
the 21st, my bookport started saying, "Application missing." Also, the
software on my PC won't recognize the bookport.

Should I send the unit back for repair? or is there some way to get at the
software problem with out that?

Thanks for your help.

Onward!

Rob
