RE: [book courier] Re: Book PortHello Guy: I don't think that the tabled of contents feature is yet activated. Most of the upgrades to the Book Courier user guide say that it is still not functional. However, the time feature has been fixed. If you download the March 10 upgrade, this should take care of things for you. The time feature used to do a wobbly every time you changed the batteries, or resored the defaults. However, now you can restore defaults without losing your current time and date, and when you change the battries, you merely need to update the minutes , because the clock does stop when you change battteries. However, prior to this bug fix, you would lose the time and date completely when you changed batteries. You might be aware that Talking Newspapers have installed their own table of contents feature with the addition of a special book courier file filter. This is downloadable from the TNAUK website. Hope this helps. However, at the time of purchase there were a couple of bugs inherent in the device i.e. Table of contents did not work and I had some problems with the time features. Could anyone let me know if these problems have been resolved, furthermore would any UK BC user recommend a good size memory card that I could purchase an where it could be brought. Nope the list isn't new. It's been around for at least a year or so. That's how long I've been subscribed at any rate. A few weeks back there was a huge argument on list about batteries. I'm guessing that since then, everyone's been kind of hesitant to say anything, or maybe a bunch of people have unsubscribed. It's good to see people posting again though. Or, is it that every one is geting ready to go to conventions, or, have already left or is there just so few subscribers to this list that it's silent ? What's the deal? I haven't gotten any mail on this list since June 18, 05! > Claude Everett > ----- Original Message ----- > From: M Kilburn > To: bookcourier@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2005 4:49 PM > Subject: [bookcourier] Re: Book Port > > > and my experience with book courier service has been very favorable and responsive when and if problems arise. > -----Original Message----- > From: bookcourier-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookcourier-bounce@xxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Peter Walsh > Sent: June 17, 2005 3:58 AM > To: bookcourier@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [bookcourier] Book Port > > > Hi There: > > My thanks to all of you who provided comparisons between the Book courier and the Book Port. > > I'm pleased that as a Book courier user it certainly looks like I bought the better product. > > I was also considering purchasing the Book worm from Handiest in Germany, with its Braille output.
