Guy,

a) Have you ever updated the firmware of your BC? If not I suggest you do that since there has been a few updates released in the last year. There is an option in the Transfer Tool which does it for you (you'll need the BC connected).

b) The size of memory card would depend on what you use the BC for. Do you use it for audio files or just text? I use mine for audio and have a 2GB card. If you too play audio then I would recommend a 1GB card minimum if you can't afford a 2GB. If you don't use audio then something smaller would do - check prices there's probably a break point where there's a big jump in price as the cards get bigger. The BC now ships with a 256MB card.

Somebody posted a good source of cards in the UK but I can't remember where it is. But you can get a 2GB card for about £90 and a 1GB card for under £60 if you search around. If I find the info I'll post it again.

Bruce.

Hello

I purchased the Book Courier console just over 12 months ago and it has
proved to be a very handy resource. However, at the time of purchase
there were a couple of bugs inherent in the device i.e. Table of contents
did not work and I had some problems with the time features. Could anyone
let me know if these problems have been resolved, furthermore would any UK
BC user recommend a good size memory card that I could purchase an
where it could be brought.
Cheers
G

Hi. Nope the list isn't new. It's been around for at least a year or so.
That's how long I've been subscribed at any rate. A few weeks back there
was a huge argument on list about batteries. I'm guessing that since
then, everyone's been kind of hesitant to say anything, or maybe a bunch
of people have unsubscribed. It's good to see people posting again
though.

MessageHello to all on the list
I just joined the list and I think that this list is kind of new so it
sounds like its just starting out this year.
I have a book courier and like the way it works and hopefully the updates
to its features will happen very soon. A few more features comming out for
it and it will be a very excellant device for me.

well, Humm! is it just that there isn't any new news with the bookcourier? Or,
is it that every one is geting ready to go to conventions, or, have already
left or is there just so few subscribers to this list that it's silent ?
What's the deal? I haven't gotten any mail on this list since June 18, 05!

Hi There:

My thanks to all of you who provided comparisons between the Book
courier and the Book Port.

I'm pleased that as a Book courier user it certainly looks like I
bought the better product.

I was also considering purchasing the Book worm from Handiest in
Germany, with its Braille output. However, it only contains 4 megs of
memory, and will not store read mp3 or even brf files.

Once again, thanks to all of you.

Peter walsh.
