In the catalogue the batteries are indeed listed at £5.99 for two, but when
I came to pay for mine, I was only charged £3.99. Perhaps it was an offer
which was only available over the bank holiday, I'm really not sure. I hope
you got a second pack free though, even if the reduction was not still
available.

In case anyone in the UK is interested in trying out the lithium energiser
batteries which were discussed on the list last week, they are available
from Argos for £3.99 for a pack of two, and if you buy one pack, you get a
second one free. I'm not sure whether this offer extends to the web site,
but it was certainly available in our nearest store this afternoon.
