Hi Sharon and all,

Like you I read to my niece but haven't included these in the number of
books.

I must say, I haven't read as many books as others on list.

I've only read 10 this year and have a couple on the go at the moment.

I plan to keep a bitt more of a list of books that I read in the new year.

Regards,

Vicki

Subject: [book_talk] Number of books I have read

Hi all, I don't know about anyone else but I have been keeping a record of
books I have read this year. I tend to create a document with each books
information on it for books I am currently reading or books I would like to
read at some stage. So once I have finished reading a book I put these
documents into a folder for finished books. I added a document yesterday
after finishing a book and noticed that I have reached two hundred books for
this year. This is just from one library so I have another library which I
read books from and in that finished folder I have only thirteen. However
the year isn't finished yet so I will be interested in seeing how many I get
up to by new year.

I read a selection of formats. Braille, audio and I have even counted
children's picture books which are in braille. The children's books are only
short but I figure I have read them so I count them. However I don't count
them each time I read them or my number would be allot higher since I read
to my nieces quite a bit, which is the reason I borrow the books in the
first place. Now come to think of it I haven't counted the books I have
bought to read to my nieces so that is another four books.

I don't count the books I wasn't able to finish but I don't normally have
that many I don't finish. Mainly the books I haven't finished are because of
the book club I am involved in. I am the youngest member so not many of the
books are aimed at my age group so I find them very hard to get through.
Also allot of them are on topics I am just not interested in.

I would be interested to know if anyone else keeps track of the books they
have read and if they do what number are you up to?

Bye for now.

From Shaz.
