Hi All
I have a 9-year-old braille 'n speak. It died and I gave it a new battery.
It will come up and I can work in a file but it won't keep any settings and
the file will be gone if I turn off. Does anyone know if there's anywhere I
can send it for repair? I don't think FS repairs old ones like that. I just
love that little machine. It never gave me a minute of trouble until last
year. I used it every day and it was so reliable.

I am glad that we have this list because I have been thinking lately that
some of the companies which produce and sell adaptive equipment have
forgotten all about the importance of consumer satisfaction. We hear
promises from so many of them that the next thing they're bringing out will
be more stable, only to find out that it has different bugs. It's very
frustrating to pay several thousand dollars for a piece of equipment that's
been touted as the state of the art, the best ever, only to find out a year
or two later, the company will no longer support it. Eighty percent of blind
people are unemployed and we all know how one has to struggle to pay for
technology.

Thanks, everyone, for listening.

Hi.
There are still quite a number of people who use the Type 'N Speak. I use a
Hewlet Packard 672 C series printer and it works fine with my note taker.
When purchasing a printer, make certain it has a parallel connection and
supports MS-DOS.
