Except their actual name is bolded in the text and all caps for the insets, and 
I would be altering the text if I instead put it in brackets, no?

When there are multiples in a row and no author text, I figure I do not need 
additional separation (the triple asterisks), but often it is in between a 
comment or assessment or a quote that is signed after the quote.
