For scanning Kurzweil is essential. Also for validating, either Kurzweil or MS word is great. I sometimes use my Braille note to edit but find that the BAN will truncate my files sometimes which is very frustrating. Often I will use my bookport to read when I'm out and about, then make any changes when I'm at home.
