Okay, I'll do it but it will take a while. In the interest of list traffic, I'll not add anything else to this thread until I report my findings.

Hi Bob and Everyone, Okay, I started this, and I'm going to finish it. This is gettingridiculous. I was the one being annoyed and now I'm just more bugged. Toomuch conflicting information. Here's what I propose. Everyone, please, help me out here? I am going to go download the last five books I've eithersubmitted or proofread. I'm going to go check if the chapter headings arepresent. I'm going to look at the most recent of Laura Ann's proofreads, asshe inserts no text to protect chapter headings. Laura Ann, I'm notcriticizing at all. I'm actually brilliantly thankful that I have you as acomparison. Thank you for being my subject here. I really am notchastizing you, just using you as a comparison. If her chapter headings arepresent, then the new stripper is as it is advertised. If not, somethingneeds to change. If chapter headings are present in Laura Ann's books, thenI eat my words, and I apologize most sincerely and grovelingly to everyone for having started this at all. Would anyone else be willing to look at their last five proofreads, preferably only books added to the collection after the launch of the newweb site, and tell us what is the status of their chapter headings, and whatthey did or did not do to protect them? This seems like the only way to know what is actually happening. Only each proofreader knows what she did to any given book during proofreading. We can put this to rest if we will all go look at our mostrecent five proofreads. Please? Help me put this absolutely annoying issueto bed! Ah, there's the rub. Mayrie says move 'em, Monica says "no need to". They are both respected gurus on this list and I'm just too lazy to move page numbers if it isn'tnecessary. Plus, it seems like a breach of the unspoken rule that says don'tchange a book if you don't have to. Hi, Susan. I was waiting for Mayrie to answer you. Alas... Sleep tight, Mayrie. I think that's another reason I was taught to put the page numbers at the top. I think. Without the page numbers, surely your Chapter headings are doomed.
