This is definitely an instance where making a book quality report would be
very very good!
This used to happen with smart quotes, in fact may still happen with them.
And we need to figure out how to make it stop!

I'm sure it's a scanning error that wasn't fixed by the proofer. Is the book
already in the collection? How manay books is it in? If you can get the
books put on the download list I'll fix it for you, or ask Carrie what can
be done about it, or fill out a quality report. Are there Spanish-languge
books with that circumflex? I proofed a book with a lot of Spanish language
in it but don't remember having to use the circumflex, just accent and
grave.

another book:

I've only seen the copyright and registration mark with circles, i.e., © and
®
I can't remember Spanish diacritical marks.I'll lhave to do some research. I
haven't had to use the circumflex much;mainly the acute, grave, and for
German the umlaut. (in fact, I had to go to my symbols chart to remember
what they keyboard shortcut for it is.

Does anyone know if the copyright and registered trademark symbol always
also
produce and "A circumflex with them? also, if all Spanish diacritical marks
in
primarily English scans do the same. Nichole (and I agree) find them VERY
annoying, and I want to avoid them if at all possible.
