[bksvol-discuss] Re: question re formatting and tables

From what another person replied, I'm inferring that a single space between
sections works, not two or more. Is that right?

Hi Cindy,

Not sure I understand what you're asking, but when I converted this table to
text, I just used spaces, and it came out looking really nice.
Best,
Donna

Are the spaces retained, or re they deleted in the conversion as the tabs are.
I've always rewritten tables using commas and semi-colons to separate parts
that were in different columns in a table.

HI Donna,     I'd convert the table to text, replacing the tabs with spaces.
Much simpler for everyone to read. What software are you using?  Do you need
instructions for how to do this, if using Microsoft Word? Mayrie

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] question re formatting and tables

Hi all,  I’m proofing a book where the table of contents spans two pages.  The
first page of it is formatted as a table, the second page as just text.  I’m
wondering what to do with this.  I’ve never submitted a book with a table, so I
guess my first question is what is the bookshare process going to do to this
table?  I’m especially thinking about the braille copy here.   Guess my basic
question is, should I leave the part of the table of contents that is in a
table as a table, or should I do something else with it?Thanks,Donna
